The turnover of Moscow chemical manufacturers grew by more than 13% in the first half of 2024

The turnover of the city's chemical manufacturers in January-June 2024 amounted to 135.5 bln rubles, exceeding in comparable prices by 13.4% the result of the same period last year. This was reported by Maria Bagreeva, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the city.

«The products of Moscow chemical enterprises are involved in a wide range of economic sectors - from packaging and domestic goods to pharmaceuticals and the automotive industry - and are in demand in Moscow and other regions of the country. According to the results of the first six months of 2024, these enterprises earned almost 136 bln rubles, exceeding the last year's figures by more than 13%. The capital's chemical industry accounts for more than four percent of the turnover of the manufacturing industry in Moscow, excluding the oil and gas sector, and almost four percent of the total turnover of the industry in Russia», — emphasized the Deputy Mayor.

Manufacturers of chemicals for industrial and medical products, dyes, plastics and synthetic rubber contributed more than 45% of the industry turnover, or over RUB 62 bln. In addition, these enterprises increased their revenue by 25%. Сompanies producing household chemicals, as well as perfumes and cosmetics reached 47.5 bln rubles — almost 35%. Manufacturers of paint and varnish materials earned 7.6 bln rubles — almost six percent.

The leaders in terms of revenue growth were producers of plant protection products. Their revenue for the year increased almost six times to 5.4 billion rubles. The turnover of enterprises specializing in the production of chemical fibers used for manufacturing, for example, fabrics, tires, artificial leather increased almost 3,4 times — up to 0.4 bln rubles.

The impetus for the development of the chemical industry comes from small enterprises, which account for more than a third of the industry's turnover in Moscow. Over the year it grew by 18% and reached 47.8 billion rubles. Large and medium-sized enterprises account for 65% of the industry turnover. For six months they earned 87.8 billion rubles, which is 11% more compared to the same period last year.

«On the instructions of Sergey Sobyanin we increase the investment attractiveness of the capital. A significant contribution to the city's economy is made by the manufacturing industry. Thus, for seven months of 2024, the index of the capital's industrial production increased by 13.9%, and the manufacturing sector - by 14.7%. The greatest growth was shown by companies operating in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, microelectronics, construction materials. At the same time, thanks to the city's assistance, companies are upgrading their equipment and increasing their capacity. We have developed a wide list of state support tools, which are aimed at accelerating the pace of development of the capital's enterprises», — said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transportation.

According to the task set by Sergey Sobyanin, the city is implementing a set of measures aimed at increasing the investment attractiveness of the capital for domestic industrialists. Comfortable conditions for the development of small, medium and large enterprises have been created in Moscow. Entrepreneurs can take advantage of a wide range of city support measures, including soft loans, targeted loans, subsidies and others.
