The turnover of Moscow's food industry grew by 8.7% in the first half of 2024

The turnover of the capital's food industry manufacturers in January-June 2024 reached almost 382 billion rubles, increasing by 8.7% in comparable prices compared to the same period last year. This was reported by Maria Bagreeva, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the city.

“The Moscow food industry is increasing production, successfully replacing the goods of foreign companies that left the Russian market, providing the city residents with quality products and supplying them to other regions of the country. In January - June 2024, the enterprises of the industry increased their turnover by almost nine percent - up to 382 billion rubles. More than 22% of this volume, or 84.3 billion rubles, corredponds to the enterprises of the meat industry. About 15%, or 56.1 billion rubles, was earned by dairy producers, over 14% - 53.9 billion rubles. - enterprises producing bakery and flour confectionery products,” said the Maria Bagreeva.

The share of the food industry in the total turnover of Moscow's manufacturing industries, excluding the oil and gas sector, amounted to 11.5% in January-June 2024. The capital provides 6.2% of the all-Russian turnover of the food industry.

The leaders of growth in the first half of 2024 were flour mills and cereal producers, whose turnover increased by 62% to 7.4 bln rubles. Enterprises specializing in the production of oil and fat products earned over 0.5 billion rubles in the first six months of the year. - This is 52% more than a year earlier. Beverage producers increased their turnover by 38% to 39.1 billion rubles.

About 82% of the turnover of the food industry, or 311.7 billion rubles, accounts for large and medium-sized enterprises, their revenue increased by nine percent over the year.

“Over 290 industrial enterprises of the capital produce food products: bakery, dairy, fish, meat products and much more. On the behalf of Sergei Sobyanin, Moscow has more than 20 system tools to support industry, thanks to which city companies modernize production sites, develop new markets and increase output. The results of the first half of the year show that food production in the capital has increased more than 2.3 times”, - said Maxim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow on transport issues.

Food producers in the capital can take advantage of a wide range of support measures: reduced loans, reduced rent at the rate of one ruble per year for investment projects, as well as tools of the national project “Labor Productivity”, which allows to increase the efficiency of work and improve economic performance by optimizing production processes.
