The capital's food producers increased their turnover by 10%

The turnover of the capital's food industry manufacturers in January - May this year amounted to more than 319 billion rubles. This was reported by Maria Bagreeva, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Head of the Moscow Department of Economic Policy and Development.

“The Moscow food industry continues to develop actively, increasing production, provides Muscovites with products and supplies them to other regions of the country. According to the results of January - May 2024, the enterprises of the industry increased the turnover by almost 10% in comparable prices - up to 319.1 billion rubles. About 22% of this volume, or Rb 70bn, was provided by meat industry enterprises; 14.7%, or Rb 46.7bn, by dairy producers. The enterprises producing bakery and flour confectionery products account for 14% of the industry turnover, or 44.8 billion rubles,” - said the Deputy Mayor. 

The share of the food industry in the total turnover of Moscow's manufacturing industries (excluding the oil and gas sector) in January-May amounted to almost 11%. The capital accounts for 6.2% of the all-Russian turnover of the food industry.

The leaders of growth at the end of the first five months of this year were flour mills and cereal producers, whose turnover increased by 69.3% - up to six billion rubles. Manufacturers of beverages increased their turnover by 43.4% - up to 30.8 billion rubles, dairy products - by 26.3%, bakery and flour confectionery - by 22.6%.

Over 81% of the food industry's turnover, or 260 billion rubles, is accounted for by large and medium-sized enterprises: their turnover grew by 10.4% over the year.

“In the first five months of 2024, the growth of food production in the capital by almost 140% compared to the same period last year was noted. With the support of the city, the capital's enterprises are increasing both the volume of production and shipment. On the instructions of Sergey Sobyanin, the city has more than 20 anti-crisis tools that help to modernize production, expand workshops, purchase additional equipment and much more,” said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport. 

Food producers in Moscow can take advantage of a wide range of support measures: preferential loans, rent at the rate of one ruble per year for investment projects, as well as tools of the national project “Labor Productivity”, which allows to increase efficiency and improve economic performance by optimizing production processes.
