Moscow IT companies' turnovers grew by 42%
Turnover of the capital's IT sector in January-April 2024 reached 1.3 trillion rubles. This is 42% higher than the figure for the same period of 2023 in comparable prices, said Maria Bagreeva, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Head of the Moscow Department of Economic Policy and Development.
“The IT sector is one of the most dynamically developing industries in Russia. The demand for IT products is high in all sectors of the economy: trade, medicine, education, finance, logistics. Both user applications and business process automation are actively developing. At the same time, interest in domestic solutions is growing. Moscow accounts for about 70% of the turnover of this sector in the country. In the first four months, Moscow IT companies earned 1.3 trillion rubles. - This is 42% more than in the same months last year. Of this volume 64% - more than 805 billion rubles. - were provided by software developers. Their turnovers grew by 32% during the year. The remaining 36% of the industry turnover, or about 446.5 billion rubles, comes from database designers and developers, hosting providers, web platform operators. They increased the indicator by 66%”, - noted the Deputy Mayor.
The share of large and medium-sized companies accounts for 84% of the industry turnover. They earned more than one trillion rubles in four months, which is 43% more compared to the same period last year. Small IT-businesses in the capital account for 16% of the industry turnover, or 204 billion rubles. In total, the turnover of small companies in the sector grew by 39% over the year.
Earlier Sergey Sobyanin told that for 2023 capital IT companies increased the turnover by almost 20%.
Today developers and customers of domestic software have access to a wide range of regulatory and financial support measures. These include tax benefits and preferential lending, preferential mortgages and deferment from military service for IT specialists, simplified system of employment and residence permits for foreign workers.
