The turnover of Moscow's cultural institutions in 2023 increased by 22 percent
The turnover of theaters, concert halls, parks, cinemas and other entertainment venues of the capital in 2023 reached 75.7 billion rubles, increasing by almost 22 percent in comparable prices to the same period of 2022. This was reported by Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations Vladimir Efimov.
"Moscow retains the leading position among Russian regions in terms of preferential mortgage loans issued. Their volume in January 2024 amounted to 30.5 billion rubles - this is 16.8 percent of the all-Russian volume of preferential mortgages. In total in the capital for all the time of the programs issued loans worth more than two trillion rubles", - said the Deputy Mayor.
Moscow accounts for more than 30 percent of the total Russian volume of services in the cultural sector. Last year, the growth of turnover of cultural institutions in the capital was higher than the national average by 6.3 percentage points, the Deputy Mayor added.
According to the estimates of the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the city, the attendance of cultural institutions increased in 2023. In particular, more than a third more spectators visited theaters than a year earlier. The attendance of movie theaters increased by almost a quarter, and January 2023 was the most successful January for film distributors. Recreational parks were also popular with Muscovites and guests of the capital, especially in the summer period - they were visited by 12 percent more guests than in 2022.
