In the first quarter of 2024, three thousand IT mortgages were issued in Moscow

In the first quarter of 2024, Moscow issued more than three thousand preferential mortgages for IT specialists for a total amount of about 39.4 billion rubles, said Maria Bagreeva, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Head of the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the city.

The increase in demand for IT-mortgage has been going on since last spring, after its terms were changed in February. Age limits for loan recipients expanded from 22-44 years to 18-50 years and reduced the period that a specialist must work in the company to maintain a favorable rate.

According to Maria Bagreeva, the share of IT-mortgage is increasing among all preferential mortgage programs. In January - March 2024, it amounted to about 20 percent of the number and more than 28 percent of the volume of loans issued, and in the first quarter of last year - seven and ten percent respectively.

A preferential IT mortgage at five percent per annum can be taken out by specialists aged 18 to 50 who work in IT companies accredited by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation. The average salary of the borrower from Moscow during the last three months should be from 150 thousand rubles to taxation. The maximum loan amount for Moscow is 18 million rubles, and by joining the market credit program, it can be increased to 30 million rubles. You can apply for a soft loan under the program until the end of 2024.

Today, a wide range of regulatory and financial support measures are available to developers and customers of domestic software: tax benefits and preferential lending, a moratorium on inspections of IT companies accredited by the Russian Ministry of Finance, preferential mortgages and deferment from military service for specialized specialists, a simplified system of employment and residence permits for foreign IT specialists.

“Preferential IT mortgages are one of the most popular support measures for the IT sector. Moscow remains the leader among Russian regions in issuing such loans - the capital accounts for almost a third of loans issued in the country under this program and over 44 percent of their volume. At the same time, the interest of Moscow specialists in IT mortgages is growing. For the first three months of this year in Moscow issued three times more loans both in number and volume than in the same period last year. The growth exceeded the average rates in the country,” said the Deputy Mayor.
